HAIKU SAKE

BRANDING, DESIGN ETIQUETTE, DESIGN BOUTEILLE

OVERVIEW Blending tradition with modernity, this collection of flavored sake reinvents the classic Japanese bottle, making it both playful and reusable. A bold, contemporary graphic approach breathes new life into its heritage. CHALLENGE To modernize sake with a fun, culturally inspired design that resonates with the younger generation. SOLUTION In Japan, attire serves as an instant identifier—its shape, colors, and patterns signaling one's role in society. This principle inspired the design, embodying three iconic figures of Japanese culture: the Ronin (fallen samurai), the Sohei (warrior monk), and the Geisha (courtesan). Each bottle in the range is distinguished first by its cap, shaped like a traditional hat, and then by its vibrant, minimalist graphics. Simple yet striking patterns, combined with bold colors, visually represent the character—and the corresponding flavor: classic, ginger, and lychee. The box set is rich in cultural references, featuring haikus, wooden panels with rice paper, and a traditional Japanese-style cord, further immersing consumers in the artistry of Japan.

A haiku, a Japanese poem, is associated with each of these roles, each of the bottles.

The box is full of cultural references: the haiku, the wooden doors made of rice leaves and the Japanese-style cord.
